Provide, at a minimum, for complete dinner (approx. cost is $50):

  • Meat – turkey*, ham, or chicken
  • Potatoes, (fresh, boxed, or canned,) rice or pasta
  • Vegetables – canned, fresh, or frozen
  • Fruit – canned or fresh
  • Bread/Rolls
  • Butter/Margarine
  • Dessert – frozen, cake mix, pie mix and filling, or whipped topping
  • Gravy, stuffing, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, pickles or olives

Additional suggestions of items that you might want to include:

  • Beverages – juice, coffee, tea, or milk
  • Salad fixings and dressing
  • Soup, Jello, or Pudding
  • Dry Milk
  • Eggs
  • Cereal
  • Peanut Butter
  • Personal Care Items – soap, shampoo, toilet paper, toothpaste, laundry detergent, dish soap, 9V batteries (to be used in smoke detectors) etc.

*Please consider: There are people who may not know how or may not have the appropriate cooking facilities to prepare a turkey. Singles and/or elderly may not be able to use a whole turkey. Chicken, ham, turkey breasts, or turkey rolls may be more viable options (feel free to ask the family for their preference). Please, never include any homemade items – for safety reasons!

Reminder:

If your congregation or agency is registered with Feeding America, food can be obtained for .16 per pound – the best deal around! Call 784-3250 for more information.
